The majority of the Kivalliq region was battered with high winds on Oct. 22 and 23, with gusts often eclipsing the 100 km/h mark.
A number of Kivalliq communities suffered power outages during the blow. Arviat was the hardest hit with some residents being without power for almost two full days.
