A man sustained life-threatening injuries following a serious assault in Aklavik over the weekend, say .
Police responded to a residence in the community around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, where they located a 36-year-old man who was laying on the ground with serious injuries, states a news release from Aklavik issued Tuesday.
The injured man was medevaced to Yellowknife, and then to hospital in Edmonton.
The current medical status of the male is not known at this time.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault.
Charges are pending and police have not released his name.
Weapons werenSA国际影视传媒檛 involved in the incident, which police say was not random.
