Frustrated and concerned, Fort Good HopeSA国际影视传媒檚 senior administrative officer says some community members arenSA国际影视传媒檛 following social distancing protocol amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

SA国际影视传媒淭heySA国际影视传媒檙e not taking it seriously,SA国际影视传媒� said Kimberley Young, who became SAO less than a month ago.

Young said people are continuing to gather socially despite stern warnings from the territory's chief medical officer, who has recommended cancelling all social gatherings, regardless of the size.

The territorySA国际影视传媒檚 first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Yellowknife during the March 21-22 weekend.

The Sahtu community of Fort Good Hope has a population of about 515 people.

Band meetings and non-essential services have been shut down, but Young said community members are still hosting parties and gathering in large numbers. Meanwhile, she said sheSA国际影视传媒檚 facing an avalanche of COVID-19-related calls.

SA国际影视传媒淲e are bombarded constantly everyday with phone calls and questions from the public that weSA国际影视传媒檙e trying our best to answer,SA国际影视传媒� said Young. SA国际影视传媒淚tSA国际影视传媒檚 a very frustrating time for everybody in general."

Young said sheSA国际影视传媒檚 SA国际影视传媒渧ery concernedSA国际影视传媒� about what could happen if the coronavirus reaches Fort Good Hope.

SA国际影视传媒淚tSA国际影视传媒檚 been extremely difficult because weSA国际影视传媒檙e trying to implement measures to keep everybody safe and people in the community arenSA国际影视传媒檛 listening and we're trying to get answers from people who arenSA国际影视传媒檛 in their offices anymore,SA国际影视传媒� she continued.
