A Norman Wells-based helicopter pilot says the Sahtu is being treated to a binge-worthy break-up.
Dennis Rusch flies for Canadian Helicopters, sometimes on fire fighting missions, other times building utility infrastructure but on May 11 he was doing maintenance on communications towers in the region.
He snapped this photo of the break-up on the Mackenzie River about 22 kilometres east of Norman Wells, near Prohibition Creek.
"It was amazing to see," Rusch said via Facebook messenger Monday evening. "I've lived and flown in Norman Wells for six years and never seen a breakup that dramatic."
