Convicted killer Denecho King will be sentenced on Nov. 16.

King, 25, was found guilty of second-degree murder and aggravated assault in July following a month-long trial in Yellowknife.

King was convicted of carrying out a bloody and brutal 2014 sword attack at a city apartment that claimed the life of John Wifladt.

The attack left Wifladt's best friend, Colin Digness, seriously injured.

The sentencing date was set Monday when King made a brief court appearance in NWT Supreme Court.
