Sandy Kalgutkar will be stepping down from his post as deputy minister of Finance and secretary to the GNWT Financial Management Board as of Sept. 1.
In his 31 years as an NWT public servant, Kalgutkar has served in a variety of senior positions including associate deputy minister of the Department of Infrastructure.
He led the Stanton Territorial renewal project, development of the Tlicho Highway and planning and implementation of the , which brought greater bandwidth and surfing speed to much of the NWT.
He has held his current role as the top non-elected official of the Department of Finance since Nov. 7, 2019. A press release Wednesday announcing KalgutkarSA国际影视传媒檚 retirement indicated that plans are currently underway to appoint his successor.
In 2018, Kalgutkar received the Dave Ramsden Career Excellence Award, presented annually by the Premier to recognize achievements and commitment of members of the GNWT public service.
