An 18-year-old woman faces new charges after escaping custody and leading police including the K9 unit on a brief manhunt.
Maiya Klengenberg was arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a convenience store in March. She busted loose from custody for several hours while leaving Stanton Territorial Hospital shortly after 11 p.m. May 19.

Additional police resources including NT police dog services scoured the area until she was spotted downtown at about 1:45 a.m. She was found hiding in a yard.
"She was arrested and brought back to the hospital for medical treatment of a non-life threatening injury sustained while being engaged by Police Dog Services during her arrest," a police news said. "She was later transported back to Yellowknife detachment."
Klengenberg's alleged accomplice in the March robbery is Devon Larabie, 27. He is accused of killing Breanna Menacho, 22, May 5 while on bail.

Klengenberg is scheduled to appear in court May 21. None of the charges against her or Larabie have been proven in court.
The Yellowknife detachment has is conducting an "incident review" of the event.
