Feds spend $67M fixing NWT highways

The federal government is investing more than $67 million to fix highways across the NWT. Those highways are:

Northwest Territories MP Michael McLeod made a highways funding announcement Monday afternoon at the legislative assembly, on behalf of Sean Fraser, the federal minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities. Territorial Infrastructure Minister Caroline Wawzonek, left, was also present.

The federal government is investing more than $67 million to fix highways across the territory, NWT MP Michael McLeod announced in Yellowknife on Monday afternoon.

The affected highways are:

-Highway 8, in Inuvik, which gets $18 million in funding

-the Whati access road gets $15 million

-Highway 1 in Fort Providence gets a little more than $14 million in funding.

-Highway 7 in Fort Liard gets $12 million in funding.

-Highway 4 in Yellowknife gets $8 million in funding.

Reconstruction for all of them has either already started or will start later this year.
