A full group alert requesting off-duty personnel was initiated when the department received information that vehicle was inside a garage, a press release from the YKFD states.

The initial response consisted of the duty crew of six personnel on Engine 9 and Medic 6. Upon arrival, the crew was met by a garage fully engulfed in flame with the vehicle inside, and the overhead garage door open.

As Incident Command ensured the house was evacuated, the crew worked on extinguishing the fire with a 65 mm hose line using the compressed air foam system (CAFS).

A second 45mm hose was deployed into the home to extinguish the fire that had extended through the entry door between the garage and the rest of the home.

Fire Chief John Fredericks confirmed this morning that there were no injuries.

On arrival of the next fire personnel, a thorough search with the thermal imaging camera determined the fire had not extended into the house next door.

All hotspots were extinguished in the garage, the home was ventilated to clear it of smoke and high levels of carbon monoxide, and crews cleared the scene at 4:06 a.m. today.

In total, twelve personnel and three fire division apparatusSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™ attended the fire, including two engines and one ambulance.

A fire watch was completed at 6:00 a.m. and the thermal imaging camera noted no hotspots.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal.
