Literacy Council newcomers host Rockhill dinner

Recent newcomers to Yellowknife held a community dinner fundraiser for families impacted by the YWCA Rockhill fire.

The event was held Saturday night at the William McDonald School gymnasium and involved Muslim women from the NWT Literacy Council's new Community Connections for Newcomers program. The program, launched this year, helps new migrants to the community develop language skills, meet Yellowknifers and take part in local activities.
