Police accuse driver of deliberately ramming truck into police vehicles

On Monday, turned to  Yellowknife residents to help find 38-year-old Gary Taylor, who was wanted on multiple arrest warrants.

Thanks to a tip from the public, Mounties found Taylor on Wednesday afternoon, along with other passengers inside a blue pick-up truck outside an apartment building on School Draw Ave.

Taylor then tried to "evade arrest by deliberately ramming the truck into two police vehicles," a news release from Yellowknife states.

Two officers were treated for superficial injuries following the arrest and have since been released.

Taylor was initially wanted for warrants related to SA国际影视传媒渞esisting/obstructing a police officer, possession of cocaine, operating a motor vehicle while disqualified, operating a motor vehicle while pursued by police, assault, mischief under $5,000, failure to attend court and breach of undertaking or recognizance,SA国际影视传媒 the police stated in a news release on Monday.

Taylor has now been charged with six additional offences; assaulting a police officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, resisting a police officer, failing to comply with a court order, and mischief over $5,000.

The other occupants of the truck were arrested and later released without being charged, but 41-year-old Kiet Thai of Yellowknife was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Taylor and Thai have both been remanded in custody and will appear in Yellowknife Territorial Court on Monday, January 28.
