A man is in custody after Yellowknife responded to a report of a suspect carrying a firearm near the library Tuesday afternoon.

Mounties seized a replica handgun near the Yellowknife Public Library after receiving the complaint around 4 p.m. today, according to a news release.

members evacuated the area before locating and arresting a male suspect "without incident."

The suspect's name has not been released by , and it's unclear if he's facing charges at this time.

No firearms were discharged and no one was injured as a result of the incident, which lasted just over 15 minutes, say police.
