Yellowknife Centre MLA Julie Green will be vying for a second term this fall.
"Since my election on November 23, 2015, I have worked hard for my constituents, all Yellowknifers and residents of the Northwest Territories to improve outcomes on a wide variety of issues," stated Green in a June 20 news release.
"I have achieved results in key areas such as: improving access to affordable housing, pushing for full funding of junior kindergarten, pushing for binding arbitration to avoid a public sector strike."
Green stated she is proud of her work on special committees and as chair of the Special Committee to Increase the Representation of Women in the Legislative Assembly.
Green has served on the Standing Committee on Rules and Procedures, Standing Committee on Social Development, Standing Committee on Priorities and Planning and Standing Committee on Government Operations.
Throughout her years in the Yellowknife, Green has been an advocate for programming focusing on women and poverty reduction as well as serving as a volunteer for various organizations.
"I will continue to be a strong advocate for my constituents who have difficulties accessing government services and programs," stated Green.
The upcoming federal and territorial elections will be held Oct. 1.
