Naka Festival returning for 2021

The annual Naka Festival, celebrating the Northern lights and surrounding culture, is returning for its third year from March 1 to 31. 

Naka, Wiiliideh for Northern lights, is a festival recognizing the aurora borealis through events such as photography workshops, a seminar on the science of the lights, film viewings, a fashion show and storytelling, among other events taking place both in person and virtually.

The festival is being put on by the City of Yellowknife, the the Yellowknives Dene First Nation, the North Slave Metis Alliance, the Government of the Northwest Territories and Northwest Territories Tourism.
