The Northwest Territories SPCA has gotten a welcome Christmastime gift from animal-loving philanthropists, Eric and Dana Margolis.
The no-kill animal shelter in Yellowknife announced on Facebook Wednesday that it had received $24,000 from the Eric S. Margolis Foundation.
The foundation supports organizations around the world that provide safety to abused and abandoned animals, and advocates for stronger laws against animal cruelty.
Eric Margolis, the organization's founder and namesake, is a journalist and owner of Jamieson Vitamins.

In that same period of time, the organization helped find new homes for 313 animals, and another 313 dogs were transferred to shelters in the south, which assisted in re-homing efforts.
