A man and a teenager face charges following a "rigorous" investigation into an alleged assault by police officers, said in a news release on Friday.
The chain of events described in the news release resembles the case of Benjamin Manuel, who accused three officers of assaulting him near Kim's Confectionery in Yellowknife on June 10.

In their investigation, police spoke with the male victim and gathered information from several other people.
Last Saturday, new information provided by the public revealed an assault was witnessed that possibly involved the same victim on June 10 in the area of Somba K'e Park.
Three male suspects were described as allegedly assaulting the man. None of the suspects were police officers.
said they were called to the area in the evening and saw the victim leaving the park before police were able to speak with him. The Mounties were unsuccessful in tracking him or locating the suspects.
However, the investigation involving more than 20 people led to police identifying and charging two of the three suspects.
"No officers had contact with the victim on the day of the alleged assault," the news release said.
Jamal Moosenose, 22, is charged with assault causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 28.
A 16-year-old male youth faces the same charge but he cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
