As it turns out a report of a city worker falling down a shaft at the School Draw lift station Thursday afternoon was only a drill.
Firefighters, paramedics and municipal enforcement officers raced to the scene around 2 p.m., as did media, but nobody is in jeopardy, according to an incident commander at the scene.
The facility on School Draw Avenue is one of 11 lift stations in Yellowknife that helps move waste to stations near the city garage in Kam Lake or at Bagon Drive and Balsillie Crescent.
