He announced his candidacy through a news release which states D'Aigle believes "he will make a difference to all Northerners by leveraging his knowledge and experience gained over a 25-year career across Canada and the North."

It also states D'Aigle believes "our current federal government has forgotten the main reason they exist; they are there to serve our citizens & residents of the North and of Canada."

Some aspects of D'Aigle's platform include: enabling the residents of the Northwest Territories to keep all of the royalties produced here, removing the GST from home heating bills and removing the recently implemented carbon tax.

He has lived in Yellowknife for the past seven years and is currently the community manager for the Royal Bank of Canada in Yellowknife and Hay River.

He is also a director at large for the NWT Chamber of Commerce and president-elect for the Yellowknife Rotary club.

D'Aigle is the only person to publicly declare their intent to run for the Conservatives in the NWT. The deadline to submit nomination packages to the Conservatives is May 16.

D'Aigle will be looking to unseat Liberal MP Michael McLeod.
