Yellowknife are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man they say robbed a downtown bank in broad daylight Wednesday.
Mounties say a knife-wielding man demanded cash after entering the First Nations Bank of Canada on 48 Street just after noon.
Yellowknife is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating this man,captured by security cameras, who police say robbed the First Nations Bank of Canada in a broad daylight robbery.
A clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect fled on foot "in the direction of the downtown core," states a news release from on Wednesday.
The suspect is described as Indigenous, approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build. Police say the man had a black eye.
"The suspect was wearing a beige jacket, black pants and black back pack. The face was partially covered with a black neck warmer and they were wearing gloves with no finger tips," states the news release.
Mounties are now appealing to city residents, as well as customers who may have been inside the bank at the time of the alleged robbery, to come forward.

, along with NWT Forensic Identification Service, have opened an investigation into the alleged armed robbery.
Residents or bank customers who may have observed "suspicious or unusual behaviour," in the area Wednesday are asked to call Yellowknife at at 867-669-1111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
