Two Yellowknifers hurt in bear spray attack

A 35-year-old Yellowknife man is accused of attacking two people with bear spray Saturday.

It was the second incident involving the noxious substance in the city over the weekend.

The animal deterrent was allegedly used on two people at Sissons Court on Saturday, Sept. 21, according to police, who attended the apartment complex following a report of an assault. 

Paramedics attended the scene to treat the individuals for non-life threatening injuries, according to Yellowknife . 

Chris Kaminesky, 35, was later located and arrested without incident.

HeSA国际影视传媒檚 charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, one count of breaking and entering and one count of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 

The alleged assault came on the heels of another incident police believe involved bear spray. 

After arriving at a Gitzel Street residence for an unrelated complaint on Friday night, Mounties SA国际影视传媒渄etected the odour of what is believed to be bear spraySA国际影视传媒 in the buildingSA国际影视传媒檚 stairwell.

The fire department was called to decontaminate the building, which was evacuated as a precaution. None of the tenants received medical attention. 

No arrests were made in relation to the incident and the investigation has been closed.

The charges against Kaminesky have not been proven in court.
