The has made an arrest in Fort Resolution involving an alleged threat on social media against schools in Hay River, Fort Resolution and Fort Smith.
Fort Resolution received a complaint that a perceived threat was posted on social media the evening of Sept. 5.
According to a Sept. 8 news release, the advised the schools of the alleged threat, and increased police presence around the schools, although none was placed on lockdown.
Following an investigation, a young person was arrested in Fort Resolution on Sept. 7.
The says the investigation is continuing.
The police remind parents and caregivers it is a good practice to be aware of their children's online activities, and to discuss with them the seriousness of making a perceived threat.
