Pond Inlet to experience temporary social service reduction

pondinlet
Pond Inlet residents are being advised that the Department of Family Services' wellness division is experiencing a reduction in service delivery effective immediately until Sept. 8 due to staff shortages.

Social services will be in short supply in Pond Inlet until Sept. 9 due to a shortage of staff, the Government of Nunavut advised on Aug. 20.

This temporary reduction may affect families and children needing access to services. Service reductions are subject to change based on staff availability, the territorial government stated. Services are expected to resume full capacity on Sept. 9.

The Department of Family Services says it is working with its partners to ensure that all Nunavummiut have access to necessary services while addressing these staff shortages.

For emergencies, contact an on-call community social service worker at 867-899-2980.
