Premier announces change in cabinet duties after minister Daniel Qavvik resigns

Premier P.J. Akeeagok has announced changes to NunavutSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s cabinet, effective Nov. 14, after Daniel Qavvik resigned from the executive council the previous day due to personal reasons.

Qavvik served as minister of Environment, Energy, Languages and Culture and Heritage.

In addition to his duties as minister of Executive and Intergovernmental Affairs and minister of Indigenous Affairs, P.J. Akeeagok will assume the additional responsibilities of minister of Culture and Heritage and minister responsible for Language.

Minister David Joanasie remains Government House Leader and minister of Community and Government Services and will take on the additional portfolio of Environment and Energy.
