CitySA国际影视传媒檚 Climate Roundtable fast-approaching

The City of Yellowknife is providing an update on its 2015 to 2025 Corporate and Community Energy Action Plan (CCEAP), and its Greenhouse Gas emissions reduction targets at an open house Thursday.

The City of Yellowknife is providing an update on its 2015 to 2025 Corporate and Community Energy Action Plan (CCEAP), and its Greenhouse Gas emissions reduction targets at an open house Thursday.

Residents are also invited to attend the open house from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall council chambers to hear about the plan, as well as provide input.

During the open house, there will be a presentation by city staff and its consultant, followed by a question and answer period.

Through its Corporate and Community Energy Action Plan, the city has goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30 per cent, compared to 2009 levels.

The open house also aims to increase the share of renewable energy use from 18 per cent to 30 per cent.

In April 2021, Yellowknife city council passed a motion that the city conduct a community roundtable to report on the implementation of the citySA国际影视传媒檚 action plan.

To collect information from residents, the city is conducting a survey to understand priorities, needs and opportunities to address climate change and advance the goals for the next action plan.
