Fort Providence on the lookout for stolen firearms

Fort Providence are quickly getting the word out about two firearms and ammunition stolen in the community.

Although the are rapidly ramping up search efforts to locate two stolen long guns in Fort Providence, there is no specific threat to the community at this time, the police stated on Thursday. File image

Fort Providence are quickly getting the word out about two firearms and ammunition stolen in the community.

The crime was reported at 3:23 a.m. on the morning of March 30. The two long-barrelled guns and ammunition were taken from a residence.

In conducting a search for the stolen property, the Mounties have called upon additional police resources, including members of the Police Dog Service and the Emergency Response Team.
