Male inmate found dead in Fort Smith jail

A male inmate was found dead in his cell at the Fort Smith Correctional Complex this week, the GNWT Department of Justice have confirmed.

The GNWT Department of Justice said this week that the NWT and the ChiefSA国际影视传媒檚 CoronerSA国际影视传媒檚 Office are investigating the death of an adult male inmate. The man was found deceased in his cell on the early morning of Nov. 22. The department is also conducting an internal investigation. NNSL file photo

A male inmate was found dead in his cell at the Fort Smith Correctional Complex this week, the GNWT Department of Justice have confirmed.

Ngan Trinh, media spokesperson for the department, said in an email that the adult man was found unresponsive in the early morning of Nov. 22 at the jail and later found deceased.
