National Truth and Reconciliation Day has been far too long in coming, but itSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s finally here.

Crowds flocked to the Midnight Sun Complex Sept. 23 for Community Registration Night, the townSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s annual pledge drive for volunteers. Groups showcased what their non-profit organizations were about and what sort of volunteer help they were looking for. WeSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™ve showcased each group in case you missed it and would like to get involved in your community.

While much of the country completed their annual Terry Fox runs remotely, in the Beaufort Delta is was business as usual as schools and communities came together to complete the run for Terry. Chief Paul Niditchie School in Tsiigehtchic raised $600 for their Sept. 17 run and the Town of Inuvik raised $1,385, with 31 participants and eight volunteers, during their Sept. 19 run. Beautiful fall weather and light winds made for a wonderful couple of days to walk.

One of the more enduring arguments against doing anything about climate change is cost. Opponents of green technology and initiatives often point out our reliance of electronics and fossil fuels is so great, to replace that massive source of energy would be prohibitively expensive.
