A Ndilo man is facing a number of charges under the Liquor Act following a police investigation into the illegal sale of alcohol.
On Saturday, July 14, Yellowknife launched a probe into the suspected illegal sale of alcohol from a residence in Ndilo.
A subsequent search warrant executed at the home turned up 41 375 ml bottles of Smirnoff vodka.
Byron Naskathey is charged with the following offences under the Liquor Act :
- Expose Liquor for Sale.
- Keep Liquor for Sale.
- Offer Liquor for Sale.
The arrest marks the second bootlegging related incident in as many weeks. Following an anonymous tip made on June 29, Yellowknife arrested and charged a 38-year-old man under the Liquor Act after nine bottles of Private Stock liquor, four bottles of Smirnoff vodka and $350 in cash were seized.
