Behchoko death ruled a homicide, no suspects charged:

A "suspicious" death in Behchoko earlier this week has now been ruled a homicide.

Mounties announced the shift in the ongoing investigation Friday afternoon, after making a public plea for witnesses of suspicious activity on the morning of April 8, when the man was found unresponsive in the community.

The man, who has been identified online by family as Archie Wedzin, was declared dead Monday after being taken to Behchoko Health Centre.

Despite the death now being ruled a homicide, police have not yet charged any suspects in connection with the killing of Wedzin.

have not stated how the man was killed, and have provided little in terms of where and in what circumstances he was found.

In a public Facebook post made by a close family member, Wedzin was remembered as a  "loving father to six of his daughters and two sons."

The post drew drew hundreds of reactions, along with dozens of messages of sympathy and support.

Police are again turning to the public for help as the homicide investigation continues.

"NT is seeking further public assistance, asking anyone to come forward with observations they would have witnessed on Monday, April 8, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the residential area near the Kǫ Go Cho Complex," states a news released issued Friday afternoon.

SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½œOur members are working very hard and looking at any possible leads to try to solve this case. Any information or observations could help our investigators," wrote Insp. Amber Clark.

"We ask local residents to contact Behchoko or Crimestoppers if they saw suspicious activity...," added Clark.

Police won't be providing further details as the probe continues.
