A Delta Air Lines flight from Amsterdam to Seattle made an unscheduled landing in Yellowknife Friday afternoon due to a medical emergency.
Delta flight 145 took off from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Friday afternoon, bound for Seattle. Halfway into the 10-hour flight, the Boeing 767-300 landed in Yellowknife, according to flight tracker FlightAware. It was 3 p.m. local time.
A woman in medical distress was taken off the plane and transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital where she remains in stable condition, according to a news release issued Friday night.
The Canadian Border Services Agency, along with the Yellowknife Airport Fire Department and the Emergency Medical Response also attended the airport following the unplanned stop.
