Mounties to firefighters: you're on! Competition heats up at upcoming Polar Plunge

Yellowknife is calling out the Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) SA国际影视传媒 for a cause.

"Yellowknife would like to formally challenge the City of Yellowknife Fire Division to take part in the Polar Plunge," reads a statement released by Const. Heather Cosenzo.

The 2019 LETR Freezin' For A Reason Polar Plunge will look to make another splash this year when it returns on May 18 for its 11th year to help raise funds for Special Olympics SA国际影视传媒 NWT.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run NWT, which organizes the annual fundraiser, is a major contributor to the territory's Special Olympics.

Cosenzo was passed the torch as head of the organization in February, after Lea Martin, who long helmed the event, stepped down.

The call out, of course, wouldn't be complete without some gentle jesting.

SA国际影视传媒淎fter some discussion, we thought it would only be fair to give the fire fighters a chance to redeem themselves a bit after their most recent loss in our annual hockey tournament," stated Cosenzo.

"I think we all know how busy they are, but I hope they accept,SA国际影视传媒 she added on a more serious note.
