NWT 's major crimes unit is imploring anyone who may have witnessed "suspicious" activity in Behchoko to come forward following the sudden death of a man in the community  last week.

The man was found unresponsive around 1 p.m. on Monday, April 8. He was declared dead after being transported to Behchoko Health Centre.

The death was almost immediately deemed "suspicious" by .

Now, Mounties are calling on residents to provide any information that could assist in the ongoing investigation, stated in a news release issued last Wednesday.

The NWT Coroner Service, which is probing the death alongside , hadn't responded to a request to confirm the man's identity by press time. But in public Facebook post made by a close family member, the deceased man was identified as Archie Wedzin.

"He was a loving father to six of his daughters and two sons," read the post, which drew hundreds of reactions, along with dozens of messages of sympathy and support.

If residents saw "something suspicious" in the the community on April 8, particularly in the area near the Ko台 Go Cho Complex between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., they're urged to come forward to .
