Sasha Cayen, one of four people charged in connection with the December death of 25-year-old Alexander Norwegian, pleaded guilty to manslaughter late last month.

Sasha, 25, was charged in early January with murder and robbery after NorwegianSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s body was found inside a vehicle on the access road to Sandy Creek on the Hay River Reserve on Dec. 28.

Tyler Cayen, 32, Levi Cayen, 20, and James Thomas, 26 - three other Hay River residents SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½“ were also charged in relation to the homicide.

In May, SashaSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s charges were downgraded to robbery and manslaughter. Sasha entered a guilty plea to the  manslaughter charge before territorial Judge Michel Bourassa on Sept. 27, court records show.

The plea, first reported by CBC North, makes Sasha the second suspect to reach a plea bargain with Crown prosecutors.

Tyler Cayen, whose charges were also downgraded from murder, pleaded guilty to being an accessory to manslaughter in August.

James Thomas and Levi Cayen both face first-degree murder and robbery charges. The pair have both opted for preliminary inquiries - hearings used to determine if the Crown has enough evidence to take the case to trial.

Following SashaSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s guilty plea, sheSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s due to sentenced on Jan. 18, 2019.

A pre-sentence report - a look at an offenderSA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½™s background to help judges shape sentencing - has been ordered for Sasha, court documents show.

Tyler Cayen is also set to be sentenced in January.
