An unknown culprit - apparently taking the role of the Grinch to heart - made off with a decorative Christmas tree from Centre Square Mall Tuesday afternoon, according to social media reports.
Security at the downtown mall confirmed to SA¹ú¼ÊÓ°ÊÓ´«Ã½ the tree, one of three adorning the halls of the shopping centre, was taken shortly before 3 p.m.
Shocked Yellowknifers shared a Facebook photo of the scene shortly after the tree was pilfered.
"Just (saw) someone run away with the Christmas tree in center square mall," wrote Louis Chartrand, who took to Facebook to post a photo of the aftermath.
"Grinch vibes today eh?" read another comment.
By 3:30 p.m., staff had cleaned up the area.
Yellowknife say they did not receive a report about the theft.
