Yellowknifers made a splash as they took a dip in the 2019 LETR FreezinSA国际影视传媒� For A Reason Polar Plunge.

Organized by Law Enforcement Torch Run NWT, the annual event raises money for the territory's Special Olympics. Participants have the choice of joining a team or running in individually as they take turns rushing into the ice-cold water before hurrying back to dry land.

SA国际影视传媒淚t's very, very cold, and I think we're probably one of the only areas in Canada that does their polar plunge in May,SA国际影视传媒� said Const. Heather Consenzo, director of the area's Law Enforcement Torch Run.

She said the organization is dedicated to assisting Special Olympians to pursue athletics and the event is a key fundraiser in their efforts to help secure facilities and equipment.
