The Zimbabweans In Yellowknife Association (ZIYA) held its first Christmas party on Dec. 14 in the Chateau Nova Hotel. The association, which formed two years ago aims to support the local Zimbabwean community and maintain Zimbabwean culture in Yellowknife. The community has about 300 members, said association president Sesulelo Mubaya. ZIYA plans to hold a Zimbabwean-focussed event for Black History Month in February.
